Our History
Started as a pastor's challenge to turn a $10 bill into something good for God's people, the tournament is now in its seventh year and has raised over $10,000 to fight malaria and advocate for kids in Haiti via Strong Tower Haiti. Read more about these efforts below. Our Tournament The tournament typically attracts nearly 60 teams from all around mid-Missouri, including around 200 participants. Divisions include 3rd grade up through High school for both boys and girls and an Open division for females. Teams are guaranteed at least 3 games against 3 different opponents in round-robin play before advancing to a single-elimination tournament. Medals are given to the top two teams in each division. |
Nothing But NetsNothing But Nets is a global grassroots campaign to raise awareness, funds, and voices to fight malaria. In 2006, sports columnist Rick Reilly wrote a column in Sports Illustrated challenging each of his readers to donate at least $10 to send insecticide-treated bed nets to protect families from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Since then, with the help of partners and supporters, the effort has raised over $65 million to help deliver 12 million bed nets to families in need, along with other crucial malaria interventions like diagnostics, treatment, and training of healthcare workers.

Strong Tower HaitiStrong Tower partners with the local church Caracol, Haiti to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in their community. Because God's design for children is the family, Strong Tower embraces a family-style model of care in our residential program. The orphan home is a duplex facility, with each side able to care for up to 10 children. 19 girls who once were lost and alone now call Strong Tower home. Strong Tower partners with Meds and Food for Kids to provide healthy snacks for 400 children at the local school. Strong Tower hosts Vision Trips, Medical and Dental missions, Vacation Bible School, Construction and Maintenance missions.

Heart of America RedistributionHOA Redistribution is a non-profit in the Sedalia area that administers the summer food program. This program provides nutritious meals to kids in our area who don't have the benefit of school lunches during the summer. We are excited to add this great organization in 2023.
